The unknown face in the back of the kitchen to the back of the head of the boot fitter. Who are these people? Sometimes we see them, more often than not we don\u2019t, and if we do, it can be very brief. One thing for sure is we certainly don\u2019t remember them.<\/p>
Most years, families, couples and dedicated singles embark on a ski holiday, board\/ski bag in hand, bobble hat on head, and we throw ourselves into this joyous pursuit. It\u2019s ours to enjoy. Most years also, there are a huge number of cogs in the wheel of the operation that provide that for you. I\u2019m being metaphorical here, I\u2019m actually talking about people. These people, turn up, graft long hours for generally little pay and the holiday maker doesn\u2019t even know who they are. Isn\u2019t that a little bit sad?<\/p>
There are many winter resort jobs which are more front facing where their winter sun kissed face becomes recognisable. The chalet hosts, bar tenders and ski instructors receive there acclaim frequently. Although still hard work, their role could be considered more glamourous, and on a weeky basis if not daily, receive thanks personally for their efforts. However, the lifty, dish pig and late night piste basher amongst others are never quite so lucky. So, that\u2019s why we decided to team up, commemorate, big up, promote and generally put these winter seasonaires in the spot light. God knows they deserve it! The Unsung Heroes of the snow-capped mountains, we salute you! We wanted to put you centre stage. Why? Because you deserve it and we find it hugely interesting.<\/p>
We have scoured the Winternet (see what I did there) to bring forward some of these hard working souls. They have a face, and they have a name. Taking interest in their role, resort and back story, we aim to keep adding to the list. Take a look at our Unsung Heroes range, they may just be someone who has helped you along the way.<\/p>
